Points for attention
Coil Valves (Line Coil Valves) are devices that control the opening and closing of valves or regulate fluid flow by utilizing the magnetic force generated by an electromagnetic coil. They are widely used in fields such as automation control and fluid transportation. The core principle is to achieve the on-off or flow regulation of liquids and gases through the conversion of electrical energy to mechanical energy.
Core Structure and Working Principle
Main Components
Electromagnetic coil: Made of copper wires wound together, it generates a magnetic field when energized, serving as the power source for the valve's operation.
Valve core / plunger: Driven by the magnetic force, it can move up and down or left and right, directly controlling the opening and closing of the fluid passage.
Valve body: Includes the fluid inlet and outlet as well as the passage, and the position of the valve core determines whether the passage is connected.
Spring: When the power is off, it pushes the valve core back to its original position to ensure the valve returns to its initial state (usually closed or open).
Working Process
When energized, the coil generates a magnetic field, attracting the valve core to overcome the spring force and opening or closing the passage;
When the power is off, the magnetic field disappears, and the spring pushes the valve core back to its original position, restoring the passage state.
Types and Classification
Based on their functions and structures, Coil Valves can be classified into the following common types:
Direct-acting electromagnetic valve: The coil directly drives the valve core, with a simple structure, suitable for low-pressure and low-flow scenarios (such as small water pipes, pneumatic control).
Pilot-operated electromagnetic valve: Controlled by the coil to operate the pilot valve, which then drives the main valve core based on the pressure difference, suitable for high-pressure and high-flow scenarios (such as industrial pipelines).
Stepwise direct-acting electromagnetic valve: Combining the characteristics of direct-action and pilot-operated types, it can work under both high and low pressures and has a wider application range.
Application fields
Industrial Automation: Controls the on-off of fluids in hydraulic and pneumatic systems, such as in machine tools and production lines.
HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning): Regulates the flow of cold water, hot water or refrigerant to achieve temperature control.
Water Treatment: Used for pipeline switching or flow regulation in tap water and wastewater treatment.
Medical Equipment: Controls the precise delivery of liquids or gases in infusion pumps and ventilators.
Automotive Industry: Controls fluid paths for fuel injection, brake assist systems, etc.
