    Product introduction

    Thread type

There are many kinds of threads of pressure sensors, among which NPT, PT, G and M are common, all of which are pipe threads.

NPT is the abbreviation of National (American) Pipe Thread, which belongs to the 60-degree taper pipe thread of American pressure sensor standard and is used in North America. The national standard can be found in GB/T12716-1991.

PT is the abbreviation of Pipe Thread, which is a 55-degree sealed conical pipe thread. It belongs to the thread family of Wyeth pressure sensors and is mostly used in Europe and Commonwealth countries. It is commonly used in water and gas pipe industry, and the taper is specified as 1:16. National standards can be found in GB/T7306-2000.

G is a 55-degree non-threaded sealing pipe thread, which belongs to the thread family of Wyeth pressure sensor. Mark G for cylindrical thread. National standards can be found in GB/T7307-2001.

M is a metric thread, for example, M20*1.5 indicates a diameter of 20mm and a pitch of 1.5. If the customer has no special requirements, the pressure sensor is generally M20*1.5 thread.

In addition, the 1/4, 1/2 and 1/8 marks in the thread refer to the diameter of the thread size in inches. People in the industry usually call thread size minutes, one inch equals 8 minutes, 1/4 inch equals 2 minutes, and so on. G seems to be the general name of pipe thread (Guan), and the division of 55 and 60 degrees is functional, commonly known as pipe circle. The thread is machined from a cylindrical surface.

ZG is commonly known as pipe cone, that is, the thread is machined from a conical surface, and the general water pipe pressure joint is like this. The old national standard is marked as Rc.

Metric threads are expressed by pitch, while American and British threads are expressed by the number of threads per inch, which is the biggest difference of pressure sensor threads. Metric threads are 60-degree equilateral threads, British threads are 55-degree isosceles threads, and American threads are 60 degrees. Metric threads use metric units, and American and British threads use English units.

Pipe thread is mainly used to connect pressure pipes, and its internal and external threads are closely matched. There are two kinds of pressure sensor pipe threads: straight pipe and tapered pipe. Nominal diameter refers to the diameter of the connected pressure pipeline. Obviously, the major diameter of the thread is larger than the nominal diameter. 1/4, 1/2 and 1/8 are the nominal diameters of English threads, in inches.
