    Product introduction

What terms are commonly used when selecting pressure sensors?

In production activities, the pressure parameter is one of the important data. In order to ensure the normal operation of production and improve the qualified rate of products, it is necessary to detect and control the pressure to achieve the required operating data.

The following terms are commonly used when selecting pressure sensors:

Standard pressure: the pressure expressed by atmospheric pressure, and the pressure greater than atmospheric pressure is called positive pressure; Less than atmospheric pressure is called negative pressure.

Absolute pressure: the pressure expressed by absolute vacuum.

Relative pressure: the pressure relative to the comparison object (standard pressure).

Atmospheric pressure: refers to atmospheric pressure.

The standard atmospheric pressure (1atm) is equivalent to the pressure of a mercury column with a height of 760 mm.

Vacuum: refers to the pressure state below atmospheric pressure. 1Torr=1/760 atm.

Detection pressure range: refers to the adaptive pressure range of the sensor.

Endurance pressure: when it is restored to the detection pressure, its performance will not decrease.

Round-trip accuracy (ON/OFF output): at a certain temperature (23°C), when the pressure is increased or decreased, the full-scale value of the detected pressure is used to remove the inverted pressure value to obtain the pressure fluctuation value of the operating point.

Accuracy: at a certain temperature (23°C), when zero pressure and rated pressure are added, the value that deviates from the specified value of output current (4mA, 20mA) is removed by full-scale value. The unit is expressed in %FS.

Linearity: The analog output varies linearly with the detected pressure, but it is deviated from the ideal straight line. A value that expresses this deviation as a percentage of the full-scale value is called linearity.

Hysteresis (linearity): Draw an ideal straight line between the output current (or voltage) values with zero voltage and rated voltage, calculate the difference between the current (or voltage) value and the ideal current (or voltage) value as an error, and then calculate the error values when the pressure rises and falls. The maximum value obtained by dividing the absolute value of the above difference by the full-scale current (or voltage) value is hysteresis. The unit is expressed in %FS.

Hysteresis (ON/OFF output): the value obtained by dividing the difference between the output ON-point pressure and the output OFF-point pressure by the full-scale value of pressure is both hysteresis.

Non-corrosive gases: substances (nitrogen, carbon dioxide) and inert gases contained in the air.
