    Classification of pressure sensors:

     

    There are great differences in technology, design, performance, working adaptability and price of pressure sensors. According to a preliminary estimate, there are more than 60 kinds of pressure sensors and at least 300 enterprises producing pressure sensors all over the world.

     

    Pressure sensors can be classified according to the pressure range, working temperature and pressure type they can measure; The most important one is the pressure type. According to the classification of pressure types, pressure sensors can be divided into the following five categories:

     

    ① Absolute pressure sensor:

     

    This kind of pressure sensor measures the real pressure of the fluid, that is, the pressure relative to the vacuum pressure. The absolute atmospheric pressure at sea level is 101.325kPa(14.7? PSI)。

     

    ② Gauge pressure sensor:

     

    This kind of pressure sensor can measure the relative atmospheric pressure at a certain position. The tire pressure gauge is an example. When the tire pressure gauge shows a reading of 0PSI, it means that the pressure inside the tire is equal to the atmospheric pressure, which is 14.7PSI.

     

    ③ Vacuum pressure sensor:

     

    This kind of pressure sensor is used to measure the pressure less than one atmosphere. Some vacuum pressure sensors in the industry read the value relative to one atmosphere (the reading value is negative), while others are based on their absolute pressure.

     

    (2) differential pressure gauge:

     

    This instrument is used to measure the pressure difference between two pressures, such as the pressure difference between the two ends of the oil filter, and the differential pressure gauge is also used to measure the flow or the liquid level in the pressure vessel.

     

    (3), sealing pressure sensor:

     

    This instrument is similar to the gauge pressure sensor, but it will be specially calibrated, and the pressure it measures is the pressure relative to sea level.

     

    According to the different structure and principle, it can be divided into: strain type, piezoresistive type, capacitive type, piezoelectric type, vibration frequency type pressure sensor and so on. In addition, there are photoelectric pressure sensors, optical fiber pressure sensors and ultrasonic pressure sensors.
